Refacing FAQ's:

Is refacing less expensive than installing new cabinets?

It can be up to 50% less depending on the wood species and door style selected.  The other real savings are a result of being able to keep your existing countertop and flooring.

Can I tell if my cabinets are refaced?

The only way you can tell is if you open the cabinet doors and look inside (the inside of the cabinets remain unchanged). If you decide to add glass doors, the inside of the cabinet can be refaced as well.

How long does it take to complete a reface job?

As a rule, a refacing project will take three to five days.

Will I be able to use my kitchen during the reface process?

Yes, although your cabinets are empty for a day or two, you have full access to the sink, refrigerator, dishwasher and more.

Can I change my countertop to granite, quartz or solid surface?

Most reface projects include upgrading the countertop.

Can I change my hardware?

It is encouraged, especially if your door overlay changes (the amount of face frame on the cabinet box that is covered by any door style) on the cabinets.

How many times can I reface my cabinets?

You can reface up to three times.

How does a reface job hold up?

It is not uncommon to last 20 years or more! You do need to take care of how you treat the cabinets. Excessive heat or water will damage the wood veneers just like any wood.
